The best of Kanchenjunga

What is our favourite region for exploring? Kanchenjunga without a doubt.
Those long virtually untrekked valleys with elusive snow leopards and
almost equally challenging peaks. We have seen and conquered though.

The region is also classic trekking. We begin in the lush middle hills before
rising to the huge alpine valleys and peaks, balanced trekking.

Here are some of our best from 2002 and prior, but explore the other Kanchenjunga galleries for more.
All these were taken on Our treks - join us for the experience of a lifetime.

BIG mountains; the Jannu-Kanchenjunga massif from south of Suketar - ie south of the airport.

We were exploring and this girl is cooking us lunch because her mother was busy.

There are some truly wild but fine trails in the region.

The middle hills are great but we also get right up into the mountains, here on the crest of a 5700m pass to Tibet.
We are the only trekking outfit that knows these places. We really get off the beaten trail exploring into the wild areas.

This place is also unmentioned in the guide books and so we have never seen any other trekkers up here.

Jannu (7710m) is a captivating mountain star of the region, only overshadowed in height by the Kanchenjunga peaks.
If there was no Kanchenjunga we would trek just to enjoy this mountain. Here we camp
off the beaten trail, perhaps the first group to ever camp here.

From Pangpema (Kanchenjunga BC) the view of Kanchenjunga is scary. There is no safe route up here and our sherpas have
tales of near death experiences to recount.

and we also got to see the snow leopard

It is a total mission of a journey that we (the trekkers) have also done a couple of times.
