Kanchen Gola Wild 2002 - the top team

The trek was a true classic, partly because we had such a good team, both crew and trekkers.
Our exploratory treks are wild and challenging for everyone, but everyone just loved it.
Thanks again to everyone for joining us/working for us!

Yes, a few of the pictures are repeats.

The Olangchung Gompa was a highlight and here we are offered tibetan tea (salt-butter tea).
Far left: Temba, Kipa (with the glasses on), Heidi, Andrea, Jonas, Lhakpa in front.

Exploring; it was hard to get everyone together, her we are missing Filip and Bob R had already turned back.
Soon after this Nicola has to return early, since her holidays weren't long enough.

The hard men, Richard, Filip and Joel (and Jamie took the picture).

The climbers, Peter (left), Filip, Richard, Brian and David almost washed out.
Up at our high camp a star crew looked after us, and more than deserve their photo here, but I don't have one.

The orange men, some of our star hard core Trisuli porter team. Here on the last wilderness camp they enjoy a fire of
carefully selected dead wood. It is impossible to deny them fire so we ensure that only dead wood is taken.
We provided the jackets and pants and other gear and Jamie with Bal Bahadur's help ensured the loads were reasonable.
Our porters were the unsung heroes of the trek, they just carried and carried without complaint or fuss. THANKS!

Richard enjoys spicy food
but here hits a fiery chili

Filip, Belgium

Andrea, UK-Sweden

Filip and Jeff work out that the map is wrong.

After nearly three weeks of real trekking we arrived in Ghunsa to beer. Lots of beer.
From the left: Heidi, Joel, David, Richard, Brian and Filip ducking in.

Our Nepali crew were also good. From the left: Dawa, assistant cooks, Nawang (star climbing sherpa), a couple of porters,
Tashi (who despite being inexperienced did a good job) and Kipa in the down jacket.

Almost the full team at the end. Missing were Bob R, Nicola and Dr Andy who had all returned early.

In the beginning Nicola (and Andy) helped patch our porters up.
Most were bearing injuries from previous work in their villages.
