Hemis Festival Extension
The Hemis Festival, or lama 'cham' dance, is one of the
highlights of the Tibetan Buddhist calendar in Ladakh., a colorful event taking
place in the courtyard of the renowned Hemis Gompa outside Leh. Ladakhis flock
to the cham dance in their best, traditional clothes and jewelry, so it's a
great spot for people watching as well as for watching the festival! We have included this
extension as the start of either the Markha Valley trek or the Nomads of the
Caravan trek, but spots are limited, so please let us know early!
