Catherine & Jason's thank-you poemJoel went trekking with Jason, his brother, and Catherine. Gokyo, Dec 2000-Jan 2001
There was a balding Yankee trekker to the north of Kathmandu Supposed to meet us in Lukla, Phakding was the best he could do. He claimed it was mountain fever which made him unable to come But we all know that is wasn't the snow - it was too much Sherpa rum
We all set off to Namche with Bjorn plus Nima in tow Then when we arrived Jason collapsed and decided he had to go So then we were four and we didn't want more But suddenly there was Paul with his snow leopards and Bart the Belgian bore
So we ran to Gokyo to escape them all And especially to protect Bjorn from the chick boy grip of Paul Then handwash Catherine for her hygienic gear Got bad karma manifested in chronic diarrhoea
For all that the trek was a great success Sherpa Schone is definitely the Himalaya's best So these lines are to say a very big thank-you From all your trekking companions and crew
