Wanda's Kanchenjunga Wild trek photos - Tengkoma

Thanks Wanda! These are from our Kanchenjunga Wild Oct-Nov 2001 explorations, a 42 day trip.

As well as exploring we also climbed Tengkoma 6215m. After this we split into two teams;
Joel, Wendy, Robin, Kirstine headed to Kanchenjunga south BC and trekked out that longer route
while Jamie and Wanda wandered up to Jannu BC and saw a snow leopard, then trekked the shorter route out.

Although Tengkoma is 6215m, the Kanchenjunga massif behind is 2000 metres higher!

We made it! Above Wanda and Jamie congratulate. Below the boys; Lobsang, Joel and Jamie.

What a place for a snack... We take time out to stop at any place that has views as good as this!

We headed to Jannu Base Camp to have a look at the mountain called Mera. But as we came to the area with Jannu BC in it,
we saw a snow leopard and cubs. See Wanda's diary for more info. After this we camped and the next day went exploring,
where we saw these yaks...

Heading off the beaten trail sometimes gets tricky. This is a tough jump...

Yes, it is Jannu again (Khumbukarna is the Nepali government name for the mountain).
An avalanche has just peeled off.
