Final summit push

We get ourselves in place in case the weather improves

23 July - goodbye to the five

Light rain again, we are getting used to this and the comments on the similarity to Scotland, except of course the lack of warm pubs. One would do!

Clive, Catherine, Ian, Adrian and Kees left this morning with six and a half porters, the other half carrying tables from another group. They will probably be in Skardu on the 28th, if conditions are good on the way out. It was sad to see them go.

Now it is planning time for Tia, David, Søren and myself, we will remain flexible and judge as we go along. Probably we will be on the mountain for the next week or so. We won't be making any desperate last push. Just a last push.

23 July - communications

We will be heading up on the mountain soon. Currently we are having issues with our internet, not sure why, and I don't think I can solve it. So this may be the last update until we get back down to Skardu or Islamabad, around 10-15 August. Our satellite phone is still working and you can send messages to us using the link on the left upper side - but we won't be making many calls so as to conserve the battery.

You can follow us by the occasional update on ExplorersWeb.com, the K2Climb.net section, especially if we summit!
