Advanced Base Camp was our real base for the expedition. First we sorted gear and spent a few days acclimatizing before beginning the climb. There is plenty to explore above ABC.

The Central summit is the highest point in the photo, and the standard route is the ridge that runs left diagonally down from it.

This mountain in the distance has only ever been climbed once.

Lollypop time! Plastic garden chairs are far better than the folding ones normally used. Our North Face 2 Meter dome is old but a great dining tent.
