Day 0 - optional early arrival
We book additional nights at the hotel once we have your flight details.
Day 1 - arrive Kathmandu 1350m
We meet you at the airport and transfer to the hotel then take your passports for the permits. There's time to explore Thamel in the afternoon then we meet for a briefing before dinner.
2 - Kathmandu 1350m
We introduce you to Kathmandu with a half day guided tour visiting some of the most impressive main sites.
3 - drive Jagat 1300m
We start early for a long day's drive in a private bus with our crew.
4 - trek Dharapani
Our first day of real trekking on the popular Annapurna Circuit. The deep gorge and steep hillsides have to be seen to be believed.
5 - trek Koto 2600m
Another spectacular day of trekking of gorges and waterfalls.
6 - trek Meta (Methang) 3560m
We leave the Annapurna Circuit and enter the restricted area. It is a short but scenic day with essential acclimatization, again with time to explore around the camp, set in an abandoned Khampa (Tibetan resistance) camp-village.
7 - trek Kyang 3880m
Also once a Tibetan resistance camp, deserted Kyang now hosts lodges.
8 - trek Phu 4080m
The entrance gate, a little below the village, offers impressive defence, similarly the hilltop village of Phu.
9 Phu 4080m
We visit the gompa and explore and this is also an essential acclimatization stop.
10 - trek Phu Goth 4560m
It is a half day trek to camp and we can explore en route or after lunch.
11-12 - Phu Goth 4560m
Explore surrounded by mountains and where snow leopards hide.
13 - trek Phu 4080m / Kyang
14 - trek Naar Phedi 3090m
We plan the standard route however there is a tough conditions-dependent alternative. The group can split too.
15 - trek Naar 4110m
A short day's walk to the village of "blue sheep". (Or alternatively we might camp higher.)
16 - trek Ngawal via Kang La 5320m
A longer day but the reward is the spectacular Annapurna range panorama from the top of the pass.
17 - trek Ghyaru (short)
A short but pretty recovery day. There is some flexibility for the following days.
18 - trek Dhikur Pokhari
We meet rough roads however we cannot miss the huge curved rockface of Swagadwari.
19 - drive Besi Sahar
We drive the rough road down the Annapurna Circuit.
20 - drive Kathmandu
21 - Kathmandu
This is a spare day for any hiccups, and a day for shopping and cleaning up.
Day 22 - depart
