Driving

Leaving Lhasa we drove across part of Tibet

7 Sept: to Shegar

The roads are rough, especially for heavily loaded trucks heading to Nepal.
Nobody was hurt when this rolled. We also witnessed the results of a yakcident,
a Hiace van plowed into three yaks.
We travelled in Landcruisers with mostly very cautious drivers. Photo by Bob B

Driving to Shegar we crossed the Gyatso La, 5220m according to the sign, 5270m by GPS - Mike Teger

9 Sept: to BC

One of the many forts in the valley leaving Tingri. They were mostly destroyed several hundred years ago during the Nepal-Tibet war, and some during 1904 when England invaded Tibet too. Mike Teger
