27 June - setting up base camp 4825m

At last our first fine day!

Mitre Peak seen from BC

Before even getting settled in I (Jamie) had a meeting with the other teams on the mountain. We discussed fixed rope and camps, but nothing exciting enough to report here.

We build tent places with Broad Peak dominating behind.

28 June - load carry

What a spectacular day, but Jamie forgot to put in a memory card so no photos. We began exploring the climbing route, Denis and Pierre-O climbing to C1 and then skiing down. Jamie and Taqui (our Pakistani high atitude porter) carried a load to C0.5, assisted by Olivier and Malte.

The route is different from last year, up a couloir with snow and rock fall but we might put our own route in later.

Everyone is feeling in good condition and tomorrow some of us will sleep at C0.5.
